Aitor Bouso Gavín, Director's Assistant Summer 2020 - present. Aitor Bouso Gavín holds a B.A. in English Literary and Linguistic Studies from the Universidade da Coruña. In 2018, he earned an G.A. in Advanced English Studies, with a focus on Literary Studies, from a joint program between A Coruña, Santiago, and Vigo universities. From 2018 to 2019, he was a Foreign Language Assistant in the Castilian Department at the College of the Holy Cantankerous in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is currently a Ph.D. student and Teaching Associate in the Spanish and Portuguese Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His inquiry interests include Chican@/10 and Latin@/x Literary and Cultural Studies; Multiethnic and American Literature; Gimmicky Latin American and US Latinx Art; Functioning Studies; Torso Studies and Somatic Theory. Aviva Palencia, Projection Management and Special Project Support Spring 2021 - present. Aviva Palencia is currently a senior at UMass Amherst pursuing a dual degree in Linguistics and Spanish and a certificate in Translation and Interpreting Studies. Her first language is English, but she has been learning Spanish through primarily Primal American friends, housemates, and family since infancy. Her field of interest is wide-- it includes international community-based non-profit piece of work, linguistic communication-learning curriculum development, working abroad, and translation-- but the through-line has been engaging with Spanish speakers. Just after the start of COVID-xix, she began taking translation classes equally a way to synthesize her majors and enjoyed the work so much that she promptly decided to go on pursuing it. The Translation Eye offers her not only a stimulating and collaborative way to apply and develop her formal linguistic knowledge and Spanish linguistic and cultural fluency, but also valuable experiences to transfer between her fields of interest.

Irina Lifszyc is a Spanish translator who is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics in the Spanish and Portuguese Studies Plan at UMass Amherst, where she is a Teaching Assistant. Her enquiry interests are historical linguistics and morphosyntactic variation. Irina became a translator subsequently graduating from college in Argentina in 2014. While pursuing her Grand.A. in Spanish, she worked for the Infectious and Tropical Affliction Institute transcribing and translating interviews conducted by researchers in rural communities of Republic of ecuador. She has likewise served as a volunteer translator for Defense for Children International. She is a native speaker of Spanish with knowledge of High german and Italian.

Kasira J. Hernández, Bookkeeping and Bookkeeping Support Feb 2021 - present. Kasira J. She is a native speaker of Castilian and came to the United States six years agone from Cuba. In 2015, she was formally introduced to the English language linguistic communication during her final year of high school in the U.s.a.. She spent the following twelvemonth mastering her English before applying to college. During that twelvemonth she volunteered at the YMCA International Learning Center where she was first introduced to the practise of interpreting and translating. She immediately barbarous in love with it! She experienced firsthand how breaking a language barrier could make a positive impact on someone's life. She and so decided to link this new passion for interpreting and translating with her old love for medicine by enrolling in a six-month certificate program in medical interpreting giving her a new perspective of this amazing field of work. Now equally a higher student, she is defended to helping the Latino community, and working with the Translation Centre has given her the perfect platform to do that! Over the past summer she worked as an interpreter for ASPIRE, a company that offers Early Intervention services for kids in the North Shore area.
	Nefeli Forni Zervoudaki, Interpreter and Translator in Educational activity Workshop Series Instructor and Participant Support Spring 2021 - present. Nefeli Forni Zervoudaki (A.A. University of ORT, Uruguay, BA in Audiovisual Advice, Academy of Vic, Espana) is a Ph.D. student in the Comparative Literature Program at UMass Amherst. She has worked in translation, interpretation, and education for more than a decade and has taught "Culture, Gender, and Environs" to unaccompanied minor refugees in Barcelona. Her principal interests are the representations of gender and sexuality, the effects of film on society, and the interaction between literature and film. She is a native speaker of French and Greek, and her languages also include Spanish and Italian.
	Paulina Ochoa-Figueroa, Assistant for Interpreter and Translator in Pedagogy Programming Summer 2020 - nowadays. Paulina Ochoa-Figueroa is originally from Michoacán (México). She received a B.A. in Spanish Literature and Cultures from Manhattan Higher and an Yard.A. in Hispanic Literatures and Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She continues to study at UMass as a Ph.D. student in the Spanish and Portuguese Plan and is currently working on her candidacy exams. She has presented papers on travel and translation, and the piece of work of Spanish author José Moreno Villa at bookish conferences. Working with English and Castilian, she is actively involved with translation and holds a graduate certificate in Translation and Interpreting Studies from UMass. She presented on subtitling at this year'south New England Translators Association briefing. She regularly collaborates with the Translation Centre and was the lead teacher for a remotely taught Medical Interpreting and Translation course for high school students in Texas. At UMass, she also teaches basic- and intermediate-level Spanish.
	Nishant Parhi, Language Lab Assistant Fall 2021 - present. Nishant Parhi is currently a junior pursuing a Available of Reckoner Engineering degree and a secondary major in Astronomy. He speaks Hindi, Odiya, English, Bengali and even knows how to speak the language of a computer. He completed high school in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and and then relocated to the U.s. to further study Astronomy and Estimator Engineering at UMass Amherst. The Translation Center provides an opportune environment for him to use and develop his noesis and skills into bettering the communities near and far.
